residency

The Residency Program is SOTA’s investment in artists seeking to be spiritually grounded, relationally connected, and excellent in their art form. These artists often find themselves in the tension of the Church and secular culture, struggling to identify with either category. The program exists to bridge that gap, equipping artists to positively impact the culture at large while reintroducing the Christian Church to the value of art and creativity.

Practically, the Residency works with artists to help them reach specific creative goals.  Artists are accepted to the Residency program based on these goals.  While there is no goal too small or large to be considered, an artist is selected based on how his/her ambition coalesces with SOTA’s available resources.

Artists driven in their medium toward a specific goal are encouraged to apply. Historically, resident artists have included musicians, sound engineers, sculptors, painters, photographers, film makers, graphic designers, fashion designers, and screen printers.
